  • "I recently attended your VitalStim course held in the Chicago area in November of 2005. I was fortunate enough to attend with 2 other first time therapists, and 2 attending as a refresher. We were "excited" and "stimulated" (pun intended) to begin using this new approach to dysphagia therapy.
    As our management was working to obtain the necessary funding, we began to feel our newly acquired knowledge slipping away, along with a growing list of patients which were missing out on this chance to have an improved swallow. That is when we recalled the information given by one of our presenters. Loaners were available, and we wanted one.
    We contacted your people and have now begun to use the equipment in our various treatment locations. We have used the devise in Acute Care, even venturing into the ICU, in the Inpatient Rehab Unit and are waiting to use it with our outpatient clientele. The diagnoses include primarily stroke and Parkinson's Disease. As team players involved with the Wisconsin Parkinsons Association and the Acute Care for the Elderly Unit (ACE Unit and ACE of Hearts Unit), we are excited to offer this new technology, and hopefully improved outcomes for these populations.
