Effective Treatment Planning for Dysphagia: From the Bedside to the MBS
Registration Form
Course Brochure
Private Course
 APPROPRIATE DISCIPLINES:
• Speech Language Pathology
• Occupational Therapy
Course Description
This is not a course on how to do MBSs. Rather an in-depth analysis of the kinesiology of the swallow so you can plan your treatment.
An effective treatment session starts with an effective evaluation. Your treatment is only as good as the information you gather from your evaluation of the swallow system. This intermediate level course for SLPs and OTs discusses how to effectively evaluate the swallow system using an MBS video and/or report. You will learn clinical tools to get the information needed for appropriate treatment planning. Both MBS videos and reports will be discussed and interpreted to determine how to meet these needs in varied settings. Objective and subjective norms from the current published literature will be discussed, including the application of these norms in an evaluation. In addition, goal writing and treatment planning, based on the findings of the evaluation, will be reviewed. This interactive forum includes MBS reviews, labs, handouts and clinical tools to use in your practice
