Course Description
The Skilled Assistant: The Orthopedic Shoulder is part of a series of courses specifically designed with the physical and occupational therapist in mind. It forms part of a series of courses (The Skilled Assistant) that aim to increase treatment and problem solving skills of the busy therapist assistant. The Orthopedic Shoulder integrates problem solving skills with good execution of treatment techniques and strategies. Anatomy, biomechanics and kinesiology of the shoulder girdle will be reviewed. Common trigger points, autonomic imbalance, surgical techniques, and more, are among the topics that will be covered. This interactive course uses a hands-on approach with opportunity to experience and apply the techniques. The course is open to PTA’s, COTA’s and Students. The presentation will stimulate critical thinking of the participants, challenging the logic and scientific validity of the various techniques. This unique course brings together theory and practice, empowering you to apply new techniques to achieve better results with your patients.
