Mechanical Traction

PRE-RECORDED EVENT (Self-Study)
The purpose of this course is to provide the participant with an overview of the principles of mechanical traction. physiotherapeutics. The lecture format will introduce the participants to biomechanical and physiological effects of traction. Participants will review treatment protocols and understand the implementation of the protocols spinal pathologies. Discussion of conditions include disc herniations, facet syndrome, lateral stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and non classified low back pain.

Dr. Christopher Proulx

DC, MS, ATC, CSCS

Dr. Proulx is a clinical consultant at DJO, LLC in the Recovery Sciences division. He is also in private practice and consultant as a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist and performance coordinator for individuals and athletic teams and adjunct assistant professor of research at New York Chiropractic College. He holds a Doctorate of Chiropractic, PhD candidate in Exercise Science, Master's of Science in Exercise Science, and a Bachelor's of Science in Health and Fitness, and is a PhD candidate in Exercise Science. Proulx has over 20 years of experience in sport and clinical science. He has over authored and co-authored several peer reviewed publications and has presented his work across the U.S., Central and South America, and Europe in many different venues. He has been a consultant to several manufacturers, clinicians, athletes, and coaches at all levels. Proulx is a licensed chiropractor, certified athletic trainer, and certified strength and conditioning specialist.
