Audience: SLPs, SLPAs, OTs, COTAs, PTs, PTAs, and Teachers

Over time, many treatment options have emerged for individuals on the Autism spectrum, often leaving professionals unsure where to begin. This intermediate-level course provides a practical framework to help you design personalized, effective programs for students and clients with Autism.

Emphasizing structure as a key element, this course focuses on organizing therapy and classroom environments for meaningful outcomes. You'll gain a deeper understanding of Autism and learn how to apply proven, time-tested techniques to create successful plans tailored to each individual's needs.

Topics include:

  • Incidental Teaching
  • Language development: neurotypical vs. neurodivergent
  • Social skills development and treatment strategies
  • Overview of all 8 sensory systems and their influence on communication
  • Theory of Mind (ToM)
  • Autobiographical Memory (AM)
  • Polyvagal Theory: stress and nervous system responses
  • Practical communication-enhancing methods

You’ll leave with a more confident understanding of how to support individuals with Autism—and the tools to put it into action.

Great course and speaker. Looking forward to Part 2. I do think though, that Part 1 and Part 2 should not be divided as two distinct courses given that they both go hand in hand since Part 1 was foundational with new research information and Part 2 is for applicable Treatment strategies.
