Rebeccah M. Smith M.S. CCC-SLP graduated in 2000 with a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology along with a minor in Special Education from Old Dominion University. She began her career by delivering services in an outpatient setting to children of all ages providing evaluations and treatment for a variety of pediatric speech and language disorders as well as providing early intervention service in the surrounding cities of Hampton Roads, Virginia. It was very early in Rebeccah’s career that she developed a passion for working with children with childhood apraxia of speech and dysarthria. She was recognized in Hampton Roads Virginia as an expert on Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). She is a graduate of the 2011 Childhood Apraxia of Speech Training Institute. She is CASANA Recognized for Advanced Training and Clinical Expertise in Childhood Apraxia of Speech. She has provided continuing education to teachers and parents throughout the state of Virginia on the evaluation and treatment of CAS.
In 2008 Rebeccah Smith founded, along with 2 other parents, The Childhood Apraxia of Speech Network- Hampton Roads (CASN-HR) support group. CASN-HR provided support, education, and advocacy for parents, families, friends, speech language pathologists, teachers, and other professionals who are touched by Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). Rebeccah is currently the Therapy Director and Speech Therapy Supervisor at Rehabilitation Associates and Aveanna Company in Falls Church, VA.
