Calling all Clinical Fellows, newly CCC'd and seasoned SLPs! If you are looking for a new position in the field, this course will give you a competitive edge in the current job climate. Participants will hear from two instructors who have coached hundreds of SLPs at different stages of their careers. The first half of the course will discuss demographics and statistics of the job market, top SLP search engines, how to build a stand-out resume and what peaks hiring manager's attention. In the second half, participants will learn how to nail the interview: how to prepare; how to present yourself; what to wear; what to do with your hands; how to interact; how to be memorable; and the critical follow-up.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify key demographics and statistics current and future job market
List the options available regarding job search engines
Including strengths and weaknesses of those available today
Construct a well-organized, concise, individualized resumé that will stand out
Locate key points needed to prepare for a job-specific interviews
Duplicate brand attributes on social media, resumé, and physical presentation to demonstrate a cohesive package
Select intentional phrases, clothing and stories that are memorable
Describe successful group interview strategies
List the three elements of a follow-up note

Ashley Keenan

Ashley Keenan, M.S. CCC-SLP is a a Speech-Language Pathologist and Therapy Talent Acquisition Resource with Ensign Services, Inc. in Texas. Ashley has experience as a lead SLP in a SNF setting, as well as a Director of Rehabilitation at a SNF with skilled, long-term care, and geriatric outpatient services offered to the community in San Marcos, TX. Ashley now supports the Ensign affiliated facilities in Texas to find the best of the best, in order to grow their teams! She also mentors SLP CFs, frequently guest lectures for PT, OT, SLP, PTA, and OTA university programs across the United States. Ashley enjoys assisting therapists to set and meet career goals. She also loves sharing her passion for past-acute care!
