Course Description

Feeding delays are often multifaceted with a combination of medical, sensory, behavioral and environmental factors. Feeding difficulties can start in the NICU, and sometimes it's later in childhood. Children with feeding difficulties are best served by an interdisciplinary team including nurses, physicians, registered dietitians, feeding therapist (OT and/or SLP), and physical therapist. Participants will learn how to foster interdisciplinary feeding teams that collaborate together. See full course description here

Course Requirements:

  • Course must be completed within 30 days of activation (activate course within 6 months of purchase).

  • Identify methods to foster collaboration of care within a feeding team

Kristen Pfeil

OTD, OTD/L

Kristen has been practicing as a pediatric occupational therapist for the last 22 years. She received her clinical doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University in 2002. She has worked in several different settings including inpatient hospital, outpatient clinic, school systems and NICU. She owns a pediatric clinic, Connect Pediatric Therapy, in Lincoln, NE that specializes in working with children with feeding delays. She enjoys mentoring other therapists and has lectured on various topics related to sensory processing, self regulation, primitive reflex integration and feeding. She is a Certified Primitive Reflex Clinical Specialist and is in the process of acquiring certification as a Functional Vision Rehabilitation Specialist. In her spare time she enjoys exploring outdoors and traveling with her husband, three children and black Labrador
