Course Description

Therapists face challenges communicating with people living with brain change, which often limits skilled intervention and education provided to caregivers to manage challenging behaviors. This workshop series contains Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care® trainer workshops A, B, and C, and will demonstrate the difference between normal and not normal aging regarding brain changes and the challenges therapists face when building a cognitive profile during an evaluation. This course will also address the process for determining unmet needs and negative interactions often displayed by people living with brain change using Teepa Snow’s Positive Physical Approach™ (PPA™) and Hand-under-Hand® (HUH™) technique. Finally, this course will identify the abilities people living with brain change still have left as the disease progresses to promote stronger skilled interventions using Teepa Snow’s GEMS ®. Participants will apply practical knowledge related to the impact of brain change on functional performance, demonstrate how to approach, and communicate with a person living with brain change in various situations, and analyze the abilities of people living with brain to support them appropriately and prevent unwanted behaviors during care.

This LIVE course is limited to the first 50 registrants.
Attendees will be provided with the Zoom link and resources via email upon registration.
