According to recent AAP publications, up to 50% of typically developing children and up to 80% of those children with developmental disabilities have feeding problems. With these staggering numbers, it is important to understand the underlying factors of infant and pediatric feeding and swallowing challenges. With the current trends in research highlighting the short term and long term effects of trauma, educating parents/caregivers on strategies to mitigate their infant/child’s physiological and physical stress has never been more important. By implementing body work interventions, we aim to support the brain/body connection and help infants and children, birth-3 with any feeding and swallowing challenges they may have.
